Endo Fun Run

Sunday 24th March saw many of the Haven team put on their running shoes in the name of a great cause – The Endo End Fun Run. An annual fundraiser to raise awareness and funds for Endometriosis Australia, Haven Ultrasound were privileged to sponsor the event again this year and enjoyed chatting to many participants throughout the morning.

With March being Endometriosis Awareness month, the fun run saw runners dashing through 2km, 4km, 8km, 12km and for the brave (or very fit) the half marathon distance. Amongst the Haven team proudly clutching their medals and finishers singlet were some of our midwives, ultrasound technicians, doctors and support team. It was fantastic to see a sea of yellow, the colour for endometriosis awareness, take over Damian Leeding Memorial Park in Oxenford for the annual event.

As medical specialists, our team at Haven is passionate about supporting women with endometriosis, as we understand the challenges of the condition, both in day to day living and for those wishing to start a family. It’s a condition which causes tissue similar to the lining of the uterus to grow outside of the uterus, causing painful symptoms and potentially, fertility issues.

Our specialist team use diagnostic ultrasound to diagnose endometriosis, with our accurate reports helping to manage and treat the condition. With endometriosis impacting 1 in 9 women, our hope is that we can help raise awareness, advocate for better understanding and treatment and provide exceptional support for women affected by it. The fun run is a fantastic way to start conversations, raise funds and help some of the 830,000 Australian women suffering from the disease.

The soggy weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the team and all the fundraising going towards https://endometriosisaustralia.org/ it’s a great start to making ripples of change. We’re super proud to be able to lead the way, as one of the few ultrasound clinics who have joined a research study, which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to combine ultrasound and MRI images to diagnose endometriosis.

The future is bright, the future is yellow!
