PROF. Fabricio Costa

As a Senior Subspecialist on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (COGU), one of the only two subspecialists in this area in Queensland, Fabricio’s interests lie in the use of ultrasound in Maternal Fetal Medicine; especially pre-eclampsia, fetal growth restriction, preterm labour, ultrasound in reproduction, pelvic masses (ovarian cancer) and endometriosis. Having written over 190 peer reviewed publications and spoken about obstetrics, gynaecology and maternal fetal medicine at many national and international conferences, Fabricio has worked extensively in both Brazil and here in Australia.

Fabricio has a special interest in first trimester screening, including non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) and ultrasound in reproduction. A believer in providing empathetic care to every woman who visits Haven, Fabricio enjoys spending time with his own family, including his wife and two high school boys. A native speaker of Portuguese, and an indulger of the many Gold Coast culinary delights, Fabricio loves grabbing the odd quiet opportunity to read biographies and history books.
